Answers:
I had my wisdom teeth removed several years ago. I opted to have all 4 taken at once, mainly to get it over with.

The advantage to having them removed is to rid yourself of the discomfort and for some, the pain that comes with having them. A disadvantage of the actual surgery is the recovery. It can be painful and uncomfortable for a while, but as long as you have someone to help you out, and a few days to rest (I gave myself 5, the Friday of surgery through the following Wednesday), you should be fine.

Comparing myself to family and friends who have had it done, I had more pain, but the main complaint I heard was the soft diet...it gets annoying!

If you're having pain or discomfort now, I say go for it! If not, perhaps you can wait a while. That's something to discuss with your doctor.

Good luck!Health Question & Answer

I got mine out this morning! I was so scared, you don't even know!!! I woke up multiple times in the night crying and I when I got to the office I was crying too. I know the pain hasn't kicked in much yet, but so far the worst part was the night before because I was soooo scared!! The nurses were so incredibly nice and made me feel as comfortable as I could be. I didn't want laughing gas before they gave me the IV but they made me use it. I was kinda scared. But they told me to close my mouth and breathe through my nose but I didn't like the feeling of it so I just kept opening my mouth! LOL. Then the put in the IV and it was just a little prick. I don't even remember falling asleep! The nurse just told me to hold her hand, so I squeezed it and the next thing I know I was in the recovery room. I was really surprised that I didn't even know I was falling asleep. Most people are really drugged and loopy afterwards but I was totally normal! A bit sleepy, but I remembered going to my car and going home. At first the bleeding was gross, but manageable. Soon it stopped so I started taking my 600MG ibuprofen with a small cup of creamy yogurt (no fruit bits!) and some water. At first I spilled when I tried eating but soon I got the hang of it. I know that the pain is gonna be kinda bad tomorrow and Saturday but I'm guessing it's gonna be bearable with the ibuprofen. I'm just at home watching movies! You'll do great, I promise. I was more scared than I thought anyone could ever be and it was totally fine!! I PROMISE YOU'LL DO GOOD! =]Health Question & Answer

this is really easy if you go to an oral surgeon and get them to put you to sleep while they remove the teeth...I had all four done at the same timeHealth Question & Answer
