Do sealings from dentists hurt?!

Question: Do sealings from dentists hurt.?
I'm getting almost all my teeth sealed and I want to know if it hurts. It would also help if you told me if I'll need Novocaine.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You will not need any Lidocaine(anesthesia). Sealants do NOT hurt at all. The dentist or hygienist will use some pumice to clean the tooth first, then they will put some blue etch cream to help seal in the actual sealant, then comes the sealant cream and last they will put a light on it just to harden the material. They will repeat these steps for each tooth. It will be painless. The only thing is that your bite may feel weird until you get used to it which should be no more than 2 days. Just be careful and avoid sticky foods( gummy bears, gum, caramel, etc.) for at least 24- 48 hours so that you don't take them out. Good Luck!Health Question & Answer

You don't need anything. They are just going to clean your teeth and cover them in a clear plastic like substance. No pain. Actually, you may feel a great deal better when it's done. No more sensitive teeth!Health Question & Answer
