well....you may have fever blisters. Are they individual.? if they are that it is probably fever blisters. mabey canker sores. if not than it might be geographic tongue. that's what i have but, mine doesn't hurt. have you had alot of stress l8ly.? the more stress the more it pops up. it like clouds on the sides of your mouth and easy to come off. exactly the opposite for fever blisters. if it isn't any of these. i would probably go and see your regular doctor and he/she can really help you alot. both of these are not contagious for all i know and the geographic tongue is not contagious. to fix fever blisters, take some Listerine and wait it out. the best cure for the geographic is to either pick it off or ignore it. i don't think geographic would hurt though. any more questions...ask me.Health Question & Answer

Could you have recently burnt your tongue.? If you have, its just from that. If not it could be an STD, but you really didn't get into specifics of what it looks like.

Try sucking on a spoonful of sugar. Sugar helps heal, and it really helps a burnt tongue feel better. If it isn't better in a few days, go see a doctor.Health Question & Answer

personal experience would tell me you ate too much vinegar, or acidic foods. things like vinegar and ketchup, anything like that, can burn away at your tongue if you eat too much. It used to happen to me alot when i was little. I soon realized why. To remidy, simply have a non-acidic like milk, it always helps me. Either this or u cut ur tongue and its trying to healHealth Question & Answer

okay, it is not an std. I get them a lot.. if you eat a lot of sugary or salty foods, especially chips, you will get them. and I know they hurt like a b*tch!! but they will eventually go away.. you just have to be sensitive to them and don't eat a lot of sugary or salty foods for the next few days. here's a site with an article on getting rid of these bumps.. read it hun!! i did and its good info!

You could have bitten your tongue in your sleep. Try putting your tongue against your teeth, and see if it matches the bite pattern of your teeth.Health Question & Answer

Maybe you ate a lot of fried, fatty foods, your blood pressure went up, and those are just swelling (inflammation). They will pass in time.Health Question & Answer
