I went to the dentist a while ago.. ?!

Question: I went to the dentist a while ago.. .?
Well, i'm fine with dentists. I used to like them actually. Until I went and I was getting fillings, and after the needles to numb your mouth ..
I felt sick, and ended up throwing up.
Then I fainted ; & Woke up being stared at.
I still was sick, so I left.

Since then i've been, a little nervous about going back to the dentists. The dentist I was at said that he never seen that happen before and asked if I was on drugs. Which I wasnt, i just got out of school.

So what might have caused that.?
Has anyone else had that happen.?

I wasn't nervous eiither..

When I was getting fillings once, they numbed half of my face and put me on laughing gas. They took me off the laughing gas too quickly and I passed out; they had to put me on oxygen until I came to.

The numbing stuff, and the laughing gas, it's all drugs...and all drugs have their side-effects. I wish I could be more helpful than that. If you need dental work in the future, make sure you talk to your dentist about your experience and he or she can probably find a better anesthetic solution to meet your needs.

It wouldn't be the local anaesthetic itself. You didn't have an allergic reaction.
Injections are always a bit painful, and dentistry is always a bit stressful, so maybe you were not really in the right mood and the treatment just tipped you over this one time into a faint. I wouldn't be concerned. Before you get your next treatment, make sure you're feeling well, slept well the night before, had something decent to eat that day, and you'll be OK.
Fainting is the most common mishap in a dental surgery. It always scares any new chairside assistants that I employ the first time it happens in front of them.Health Question & Answer

You might be allergic to the numbing medicine, it's quite possible. There's no chance you might be pregnant is there.? Maybe next time take the nitrous to see if that helps. Hope it's not a problem in the future. Give it one more time and if it happens again go to an allergy doctor. Take care.Health Question & Answer

Could it have been something you ate a few hours earlier.? Were you too hot.? Either could cause you to feel sick and then vomit or even pass out. Or, there could have been something in the injection that you were allergic too. Perhaps try another dentist.?Health Question & Answer

Maybe it was the needles they are a little scary Health Question & Answer
