You can get your teeth sealed at any age. It does help protect cavities from forming in the deep groves of your teeth by not allowing food to get stuck in there. Sealing in my area (Central Florida) costs between $20-$30 a tooth. It is usually done on molars only, although it can be done on any teeth that have large grooves. I've had my teeth sealed many times (when ever one pops out, I get it put back in and I haven't had cavities in those areas - so yes they do work).

Getting your teeth sealed isnt going to make a huge difference in your battle against cavities. As long as you are brushing, flossing, and rinsing with listerine regularly, you'll be fine.
As for the insurance, I've had Delta Dental, and Cigna. Theyre about the same and Im pretty sure you can get an individual rate. Or you can call your dentist, express your concern and he/she will more than likely work with you on getting it done in a way that suits you financially. Maybe monthly payments, or a discounted rate. I never got mine; i think it is when they "paint" your teeth.? Just keep them clean and they should be fine!
In almost all states, you can get free insurance if you are a child. Even if the state doesn't offer it, some other organization or watev may help you. I'd do a lit' research and then confront mummy dearest.
also, don't base political decisions on your mum's views. Do some research :)
I'd say Obama would actually help kids in your situation much more than McCain or whoever. But whatever, just everything is just opinion.Health Question & Answer

Yes it is ok not to get sealants. Good oral hygiene works just as well and even better because sealants can't protect areas they don't cover. Namely, between teeth and the sides. Sorry can't help w/ insurance info but be advised ins doesn't cover sealants for adults. At least none that I'm aware of.Health Question & Answer
