Chewing gum all day long?!

Question: Chewing gum all day long.?
Yesterday at school i chewed gum from the morning until school finished, i had about 6 pieces in my mouth at once and i chewed and chewed. I know this sounds strange and all but then today i woke up and it hurts above my temples kinda area. I was wondering if this had anything to do with chewing gum yesterday, it did get pretty tiring haha. I can feel it hurt when i open my jaw.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
you strained your TMJ.

avoid chewing gum (sugarless and sugar), hard chewy foods (like bagels), overly straining your TMJ like wide mouth yawns, etc.

Your TMJ soreness/pain should resolve in a couple of days.

ask your parents if you can take some anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen or advil.

yes sounds like it is related to chewing the gum for so long as it was working the muscles in your jaw and temples. You should get sugar free gum if you are going to chew that long to prevent cavities! You don't want your teeth falling out do you.?Health Question & Answer
