first off, this is in the wrong catergory.
but i can still help you

do you have a heat protecter.? if you dont, i would suggest you get one.

tresseme thermal heat protector spray i would recommend because its good for any heat appliance

and its great if your worried about your hair getting greasy!

GHD flat irons work great. does it have a temperature stetting.? if it doesnt, get one that does. you need a temperature setting so you can set it to the style of your hair so it doesnt fry/damage it.

a flat iron with no temperature setting ex. CHI.

usually the heat protector lasts all day until you wash your hair, so you can just straighten it again that day without spraying more in your hair.

if you just use a heat protector, you'll be fine!

but i would recommend you straighten your hair every other day. because even if you use a heat protector, its still very damaging if you do it everyday. if you do it everyother day, its not as damaging.

and if you wash your hair every other day, its healthier for your hair. because it doesnt strip all the natural oils out of it, thus giving you better hair days!

and dont straighten your hair when its damp/wet.

deep conditioners are good to use if you want to use heat appliances.Health Question & Answer

Yes it is very bad for your hair I'm afraid sweetie, I have my own GHD's as my hair has a natural horrible kink to it, unless I straighten it, it just looks a mess, its a nightmare! I have started tying my hair back for work and using deep conditioners as my hair has gotten dry, split and damaged from the straighteners. The heat is just too much for your hair to take every day and you will regret it like me one day. If you don't want to stop straightening it every day, there are some hair straighteners by babylis I think that have a temperature control and put moisture into your hair while you straighten. They would be better than GHD's as they don't have a temp control and are like 200 degrees!! Try and save your GHD's for the weekend. There are also lots of balms you can try which you put on damp hair which help straighten it when you blow dry. I have a nicky clarke one which helps abit and try a hot oil treatment once a week and a good conditioner to keep your hair healthy. Always make sure you use a good heat protection spray when you straighten ( very important!!), all the best.Health Question & Answer
