Question: I think i have halitosis.? (bad breath).?
i know i have bad breath, i don't need people to tell me. i brush my teeth multiple times a day, floss occasionally, scrub my tounge, and use mouthwash, but my breath continues to reek after about an hour.

my bad breath is ruining my life. i chew gum and mints throughout the day, but my breath is still horrible. my breath is hurting my social life so bad, i'm afraid to go out with friends or talk to people up close in fear that i'll knock them dead with my breath. i'm getting really depressed about it, and i wanted to know what i should do, or if anyone else has/has had this problem.

ps- could it be because of my tonsils.? sometimes i feel these hard things around the back of my mouth, and when i manage to pull it out of my mouth, its about an eighth of an inch round, looks like mucous but feels a little harder, is smooshy, but smells absolutely horrible. what are those.?

PLEASE help! and no rude answers please i am really struggling with this.

I will be checking this question regularly as I have the same problem and although I know my husband loves me he makes jokes now and again and he has no idea how much the comments bother me. I had the same yellowish "curds" in my throat that felt like a semi hard cheese and smelled just as you described.

Those hard things you're describing sounds "tonsil stones".

aww i know how you feel my sister has the same problem my grandmother is an RN and she made my sister gargle peroxide because it will clean any infections making you have bad breathe do it in hte morning and night try it for a week if it doesnt improve any make an appointment with a dentist and tell your your problem you may have a infectionHealth Question & Answer


Gargle a cup of lukewarm water mixed with salt or half a lemon juice.This is best done before going to bed. Chew parsley leaves,which are sure to keep your breath fresh. The symptoms you describe regarding your tonsils are almost certainly related.

It could be something as simple as a bacterial infection - in any case it's likely you can be 'fixed'!

OKAY that squishy mucusy stuff is nooo good! You must see a doc about this, its probably an infection. One of my relatives would get small white balls can they always had to spit and they complined of bad breathe so they went to the doc and problem solved! In the mean time try to eat fruits and such since sulfur smell could be traveling up the throat and avoid foods that r spicey and garlic... things like that. I think ur getting self conscious about the bad breateh thing that its getting to you more than it should, and interferring. Just brush normally and use mouth wash about every hour when u smell u may have bad breathe.
In the mean time chew dentyne ice or ice breakers since they are very string, minty wise and cool !!!
Just tlk to ppl liek normal and don't focus on ur breateh just brush before u have to tlk to ppl and such and chew gum in the mean time preferrably sugar free!Health Question & Answer
