Answers:
Possibly just muscle soreness, there are four main muscles that allow you to chew, and one or more could be causing the pain (I don't know what jelly babies are... what world do I live in.?.? so I don't know, if they are hard or gummy it's probably just muscle pain). It could also be joint pain- your TMJ is the joint between your lower jaw and basically your skull. Joint pain is really common- about 40-60% of people eventually end up with some TMJ pain during their lives. The joint itself can't actually hurt because it has no nerves, but if the tissue right behind it, holding things in place, gets inflamed that causes the whole area to hurt. But, I still would guess you just have muscle soreness because joint pain you would expect to be more constant and more prolonged. Health Question & Answer
