Is it normal to have a filling feel sore after a day or two?!

Question: Is it normal to have a filling feel sore after a day or two.?
I had a loose filling and the Dr. told me that some decay got into the pulp but didn't hit the nerve. So about two weeks ago the dentist decided to put in a temporary filling instead of a permanent one to see if it'd be okay without having to get a root canal. Everything seemed fine, so two days ago he put in a permanent filling..and now my tooth feels a bit sore.

is that normal.? He did tell me that he can't promise that it'll be 100% okay, and to call if anything seems wrong.Health Question & Answer

I had several fillings on the left side of my mouth, 1 or 2 new, but most were taking out the old metal and putting in resin. My tooth area was sore for almost 5 days. I just iced it and took Advil, I go in tomorrow for a crown on the bottom right (my first) I plan to let them know one of me teeth still hurts. Just one, out of all that I had done.? Interesting.
I would let your dentist know that you are still having pain. While everyone is different, it is best to have it checked out.Health Question & Answer

Yes, it's normal. Both my mom and I got permanent fillings a few weeks ago, and her teeth were feeling sore for about 2-3 days, while mine were only sore for 1-2 days. So it's different people get different results, I guess.

But if it continues on for about 2 more days, you should probably call your dentist to check it out.

Hope this helps!Health Question & Answer
