Hi there, I've had my retainer for probably seven months and the most cleaning it's had is like, being brushed with toothpaste. I was wondering what I should use every day to thoroughly clean it and get all the bacteria off.? also, where can I buy it from.? Thanks muchooo! :DHealth Question & Answer
Answers:
We recommend that our patients brush their appliance every morning and put it in the case dry. Do not soak it in liquids.
However, once a week you can use a mild bleach solution to brush the appliance and then rince it VERY THOROUGHLY and put it in the case to dry. Nothing more is really required.

the retainer is made of orthodontic acrylic,so best to use a soft brush and mild washing up liquid in warm water.to freshen up you can soak in a minty fresh toothpaste and water.Health Question & Answer
Retainer brite. I've heard great things about this. I just started invisalign, but I've heard that denture cleaner can cause the trays to become cloudy.

From Archwired.com - they have these little tablets you can use... however I have been told cleaning them with denture tablets works just fine too. I know to just not use toothpaste if you have the clear ones because it will scratch them.Health Question & Answer
you have been doing the right thing by using toothpaste, you can also soak it in listerine (its anti bacterial) ..... your odontologist will tell you the same thing.
