Wisdom teeth question involving dry socket?!

Question: Wisdom teeth question involving dry socket.?
I got all 4 wisdom teeth taken out 3 days ago. This morning I brushed my teeth (gently) and when I went to spit blood came out. I don't want to get dry socket. Is this a symptom of dry socket.? I put gauze in my mouth in hopes to allow another clot. Any ideas or suggestions.? I don't want to get dry socket.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
swelling can take as long as a week sometimes, and sometimes a little longer. everyone is different and it depends on how deep your wisdom teeth were and if they were damaged.

it is actually hard to get a dry socket. From my experience, if its been 3 days and you are not experiencing pain by now, then you do not have a dry socket. blood is normal and you shouldn't worry about that.

if you begin to feel pain in the hole where a tooth was....contact your dentist and tell them. if you get a dry socket, which i doubt you will, they will just repack it with a medicated piece of cotton-like material that will come out on its own. it isn't too bad to have done.
BUT if you feel some pain and keep waiting hoping it will go away and a day goes by, then another, and so on.......it is probably a dry socket and you need it repacked asap. the longer you wait, the more its gonna hurt. but since you said nothing about pain and its been 3 days, i dont think u will have a problem.

good luck with it all!Health Question & Answer
