What are the bright white spots on my teeth? Is it decay?!

Question: What are the bright white spots on my teeth.? Is it decay.?
i've had braces for almost 2 years now. i used to have really nice pearly white teeth but theyre yellow and yucky. i don't brush 3 times a day like i'm supposed to. i usually only do it once a day. i looked at my teeth and lately ive noticed lots of white spots on the edges of my teeth. my dentists says theyre normal but he only looked at them for 2 seconds. should i get a second opinion.?

i tried to find a pic on google:
the white spots look like the first pic:

Sounds like white spot lesions that are early decay just line in the picture. Nice thing about this early decay is it is reversible and it is not a cavity.
You could try a prescription toothpaste from a dentist with high fluoride content. That should help. A great product on the market that not many know about is MI Paste. It is designed for remineralizing teeth and fixes white spots better than anything I know of. I don't have tons of experience with it but I'd definitely give it a try. also, avoid snacking between meals.Health Question & Answer

FYI,
THESE ARE AREAS OF DECLASSIFICATION WHERE IMPROPER BRUSHING CAUSED A LOSS OF ENAMEL AROUND THE BRACKETS.

Your enamel (the stuff that makes your teeth hard) is starting to dissolve. Health Question & Answer

Well, first off, I would suggest brushing your teeth a little more often. I brush mine once in the morning and once at night, and they are only a tiny bit yellow. I have seen these white spots before (I think) They are usually completely normal, sort of like really healthy parts of the tooth. If you are really worried about them, have your dentist look at them again, and ask him if it could be decay. He may be able to tell if it is by x-rays. I personally don't think it's decay, unless you have half of your teeth missing and have black spots all over them. If you are worried, you can just tell your dentist or parent to look at them and tell their opinion.

Hope this helps!Health Question & Answer
