Pulling my own tooth out (adult molar) advice?!

Question: Pulling my own tooth out (adult molar) advice.?
I know I'm going to get alot of comments judging my intelligence, but here is the scenerio. I have a bad tooth that needs to be pulled or a root canal done. I have no insurance and I'll have to go to a surgeon to get it pulled. It's my 2nd molar on the top near my sinuses. The pain is EXTREMELY intense and right now I'm on antibiotics and pain killers trying to drink myself into the right state of mind to pull it. I can't stand it anymore and I'll have to wait til at least the middle of next week in order to get it done professionally or maybe longer if I need the cash up front. I got a pair of pliars ready. What advice or guidelines can you give me to take out my own tooth.?Health Question & Answer

I was in the same situation! It hurts like heck but to prevent the pain buy extreme pain orajel and rub it around in and by the gum of the tooth. I opted out of the root canal also! DONT PULL IT YOURSELF. the pulling of the actual tooth will run you a couple hundred but the surgery you will need to have to be able to breath through your nose and be able to see through your eyes. If you slip and clip a nerve it will cause you to loose your clear sight. So just go to the dentist and they will pull it.Health Question & Answer

-Well do you have your x-ray so you know which way the roots are going (so you know which way to pull it).?
-Do you have the proper elevators for incase one of the roots breaks off.? which it probably will.
-Do you have a medicated foam to put in there so there isn't an open hole from your mouth to your sinus.?
-Do you have sutures so you don't have a gaping hole in your mouth.?

Sorry...but it is not a good idea to pull your own tooth. You are not a professional. Ask family for a loan, ask the office if they will accept payment.
also how long have you been on the antibiotics.? keep taking them along with the pain medication your dentist prescribed until you have the funds to get it done professionally. good luckHealth Question & Answer
