Question: Can we drink soda with straw while having braces or not.?

The straw doesn't matter because it's a liquid and you have no mechanical risk of braking anything out from your braces.
But when you drink coke, it is bad for the material they glue the braces with. Which is similar to the composite for fillings. If they told you not to drink soda, it is for you to stay away from saturated sugar fluids and specially coke pigmentation. also, doing your regular hygiene will be more difficult with the braces on, so it is obvious you got to be careful with sugar. And sodas get all over the place, including in between your teeth, which are places you won't be able to clean on your own with braces on.
All I can say is, if you want to cooperate with your Orthodontist, just stay away from sugar, brush your teeth as they told you to, bring your floss and tooth brush to the office, so when they take the arch out you could get it all clean. Avoid biting apples or hard groceries like nuts, hard toasted breads (like thin pizza toasted crusts, hard Italian, old cookies, etc), stop chewing difficult gum candies, and start enjoying the soups, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, pastas, soft breads, meat loaf, blends and much more!

There's no reason why not. You can even drink soda without a straw... Its just not something you should be drinking a lot of because its soda and too much of it may cause cavities. Its not going to hurt your braces though. If you're really worried just rinse with a mouthwash afterward. Really, its completely fine! =)Health Question & Answer
Yes, it's best to drink soda with a straw with braces. If you normally drink out of a glass (without the straw), the soda will coat and stain the front teeth. Health Question & Answer

yes you can because i hav done it tons of times and nothing bad has happened and the braces are on the front of your teeth so it will not effect them
