Something in my gums after extraction?!

Question: Something in my gums after extraction.?
Had a molar, #30, pulled almost two weeks ago. Tonight I noticed this whitish substance in the extraction site. I thought it was food that just wouldn't come out so I brushed a little hard and it did seem to come out but then I noticed some bleeding. Any idea what this substance could have been.? It almost seemed to be attached to the hole in the extraction site. Health Question & Answer

The White soft tissue like thing was healing tissue. When the socket heals above that it comes. You should not try to remove it. Just do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day so that the socket doesnot get infected. For more information on tooth extraction you can read the following very informative article

It might have been a clot that had formed from the bleeding and oozing that happens after the removal of teeth. If you do remove a clot there will be bleeding shortly after. Leave the clot alone. Removing clots delays healing time. If you continue to have problems consult your dentist.Health Question & Answer
