the injection does go into your gums but try asking for laughing gas i had laughing gas for getting teeth pulled and cavity fillings when you have the gas all you do is laugh and you are just very tingly and numb you have nothing to worry about if you get the gas.Health Question & Answer

arrr it doesnt hurt that much ive had loadz!! and for a filling you WILL need an injection because there is a risk of going too close to the nerve, if your a bit scared ask the dentist to put some pink jelly on the injection area, this helps numb the skin before the injection goes in, works for me, with the jelly i would say pain is about a 2 xxxHealth Question & Answer

The pain from the injection varies from dentist to dentist. With one who just jabbed the needle into my lower portion of the gums it was around a 6 with the dentist who performed a jiggle trick with the cheek to distract the mind and body With sensation around a 3. The topical Novocaine helps too. The injection goes around the base of the gums.Health Question & Answer

The needles are very fine and sharp and your gums are soft. You feel it go in but it is sensation rather than pain.
You have in your life experience a lot worse discomfort. It hurts no more than a arm injection, once it has broken the skin then that is about it.
Gas could be more expensive and also more side effects after treatment. Injection is straight to the point and local to where it needs to numb.Health Question & Answer

Yes, it goes into your gums and it feels just like someone is pinching you but it lasts only a couple of seconds. I would say a 4, but everyone has different pain thresholds. Just imagine someone pinching you on your arm, except in your mouth. That makes it sound scary but it really isn't. It doesn't last long but your mouth will be numb for a little while which just feels funny, like you have a lisp! Health Question & Answer

It depends where the injection is... most of them are about a 3 because they use numbing gel first. If the injection is on the roof of your mouth its about an 8.

Despite what other people may have said, you can't just get nitrous oxide (laughing gas) because it doesn't numb the nerve. You can get nitrous before an injection to help take the edge off during your dental work, but it won't put you to sleep. It just makes you more comfortable. Health Question & Answer

Hmmm, I had one pretty recently. And I'd have to say about a 7. It hurts pretty bad cuz it stabs you right in the gums and it's not only one injection usually. One time I couldn't get numb enough and they shot me with about 5 injections.Health Question & Answer

it really depens... if ur docter or whatever uses a lot of the numming but if like me one time they forgot the numming -.- i would say about a 7 but if its bad just ask for extra numing but when they stick it in ur jaw or w/e that hurts d give it a 9Health Question & Answer

Yes, the injection goes in your gums. The exterior of the gum is numbed before the injection to help reduce pain. I would rate the pain at a 2 or 3. I've had extensive work done, but I'm sure that the pain varies by the patient.Health Question & Answer

Are you talking about the numbing injection.? If so, it just stings a bit and you feel pressure, it only lasts for a few seconds and then it's over. Not so bad after the fact, don't worry. Don't be scared of the dentist.Health Question & Answer

about a 5. its like a regular shot. it doesnt hurt that bad. and they put topical cream first so it wont hurt.

the injection usually goes in the gums to put the tooth nerve to sleep but it ends up numbing down your cheek tooHealth Question & Answer

eh...I'd say 6/10. it does hurt a bit, i wont lie. but it's over in a couple of seconds. so don't stress over it. you'll do fine. and yes, they do inject it in your gums.Health Question & Answer

6.5/10 Maybe hurts more than a flu shot, but don't worry, but the only thing is they leave it in there for a bit. And if it is a filling you won't need an injection!Health Question & Answer

I would say about a 7, the pain is tolerable, but it hurts quite a bit. Yes, they do inject it in your gums.

Hope I helped. :)Health Question & Answer
