Answers:
I live in a very large city. In my humble opinion there aren't enough oral surgeons. They do lots of good things for us mortals, including repair from accidents, removal of embedded teeth and a thousand other things. But that type of work, which I think is largely cosmetic (greater than 50%), is subject to fluctuations in the economy, more than many other medical fields. also, the money, if that's what you're after, lies mainly in the cities and not the smaller communities. So the larger the community the greater demand for oral surgeons. If you want to practice and live in a small community your standard of living might suffer as a result. On a personal note, as an example of the money, I'm currently in the process of having a dental implant to replace a missing lower molar. It's a lengthy multistage process. I just had the anchor post "installed" a couple of days ago. For about twenty minutes of work I paid $2,100.00. That's about a hundred dollars a minute. The total cost, including the tooth itself will easily exceed $5,000.00. I can afford it so if it works I'll be happy.Health Question & Answer
