I have a slight indention/hole on the front of my tooth. What could this be?!

Question: I have a slight indention/hole on the front of my tooth. What could this be.?
There's a slight hole on the front of one of my very front teeth. It's a slight indention right where the gums meet the tooth, basically.

Could this be a cavity.? Because I didn't know cavities could appear on the front of the tooth.

Answers:
It could be a cavity. Cavities can appear on most any tooth surface.
It might also be an erosion of the root or an enamel defect or a normal enamel-root junction. These are common and generally require no treatment.
There is only one way to find out - see your dentist. Whatever it is they can treat it.Health Question & Answer

you can get decay just about anywhere of tooth. some areas are more prone to decay than others. even after brushing, some plaque can be left right above gum and eventually can lead to weakening of enamel ( outermost protective layer of tooth) which makes the area whitish and eventually cavity where you start seeing dentin(supposed to be surounded by enamel) thru hole. I don't know exactly what your case is until I see it. but if area around the hole is white chaulky kind of state, I think it's likely decay. pls see your dentist. Health Question & Answer
