Question: Why do dentist's ask for you to gargle salt water.?
When you have a tooth infection or something.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Salt has an amazing antibiotic quality to it. It won't kill the infection, nor prevent it. The tooth is usually the source of the infection. Until that is taken care of, the infection won't go away. But, rinsing with salt water will rinse away the build up of bacteria that has come from the infection, so to speak.Health Question & Answer
