The rubber bands on braces that connect the tops to the bottoms are suppose to do what?!

Question: The rubber bands on braces that connect the tops to the bottoms are suppose to do what.?
What exactly are they meant to do.? Im not sure why he's put them on my braces with only a few months left of treatment.

And is there anyway to like get around it.? he said i only need them on for one session ( roughly 5 weeks) so would it mess what hes trying to do up by only using them when im not around others.?Health Question & Answer

Unfortunately you have to wear them all the time. i know gross and uncomfortable, right.? But they seriously wont take off your braces until you bite is corrected... which is what elastics are for. This is really the easiest and shortest way to fix those choppers. Trust me, you will regret it majorly next appointment, when he says " Another 2 months of elastics before they can come off!" if you don't wear them ALL the time. Health Question & Answer

They are elastics which are given to treat the overbite. They are given in the cases where overbite is there and they are given after the teeth are aligned properly and are given for short duration. For more information on braces you can visit the following link for complete information
