You,ll be fine, its goes in so fast, when you wake up there will be some discomfort after the sedative wears off, maybe take some nurofen for a few days, but you,ll be up on your feet in no time at all, best of luck hun, wisdon teeth serve no purpose at all just push healthy teeth out of place, xxHealth Question & Answer

Don't be scared, and honestly if it will save you money don't go for the sedation. I was TERRIFIED for over a year and waited until I was in excruciating pain to get mine extracted. I got a local anesthesia, there was a little bit of discomfort but definitely nothing compared to the pain the teeth were causing. All in all it took about 5 minutes to get them out. There wasn't much pain after-wards, I was able to get my with 600mg of Motrin. Don't be afraid, you'll be mad at yourself like I was if you keep putting it offHealth Question & Answer

I had my wisdom teeth cut out like 2 years ago. They'll just stick the needle in your arm, and you'll be out in like one or two minutes. You'll be really drowsy for a while after you wake up. After the drowsiness wears off, your teeth will hurt. Just make sure you put ice on your jaws and then a heating pad. Just alternate between the two or your cheeks will swell. Oh and make sure to swish warm salt water. I didn't do it enough and one place got infected. They had to repack it and it hurt.Health Question & Answer

I had mine done that way and it's not that bad. If yours is like mine, you will sleep most of the day of your surgery. I had mine done early in the morning and didn't get out of bed until dinner time that night. I felt fine that day (although I was still groggy even after sleeping all day). You may be a nauseous because of the drainage but mine wasn't bad. I was able to eat that night but obviously it was nothing that had to be chewed.

I was back at work the next day but was sore. It wasn't horrible and Advil seemed to work fine. I didn't have much swelling but still tried to keep ice on it just to keep it down and help with the pain. After a few days the pain was minimal but the stitches were annoying.

One thing you want to be careful about is keeping the areas clean. You'll probably get a prescription antibiotic mouth rinse which you'll want to use and your doctor may recommend rinsing with salt water.

I put-off mine for years but when I finally had it done I wish I had done it earlier. Good luck. Health Question & Answer

i just got six teeth pulled out in august, including my 4 wisdom teeth. i didnt remember anything from the surgery, but when i woke up i was crying (kind of embarrasing) it will hurt, and your cheeks will probably get really puffy. but dont worry too much, you wont be able to tell in like 2 weeks. plus the other two teeth i got out hurt worse than my wisdom teeth, so i probably had more pain than you will. you will probably get stitches where they took the teeth out and they pretty much just fall out on their own. thats pretty much it. just make sure you have a lot of ice packs, and soft things to eat! I was scared S***less out of my mind when I had one impacted wisdome tooth removed. honestly it happened so fast that really there is nothing to be afraid of. It doesn't hurt until after *which they give you a prescription for*, and like i said i was in and out like 5-10 minutes. trust me it is not scarey at all. Health Question & Answer

I had this done but without sedation. The pulling and pressure of the dentist pulling on your tooth to get it out is horrible. also if the tooth they are pulling breaks up then your faced with sitting there while they pick at pieces of your tooth to get it out. You are smart to get sedation. If I knew I would have too. But its more expensive for me under my insurance to get that. They just numbed me up. Health Question & Answer

You are going to be fine! I just had mine done (2 of them) and I was FREAKING out! You lay down and they give you the IV and gas ... you start to feel loopy and then they work on you! I could hear them but I could not feel anything! The most pain was afterwards but they give you plenty of good pain meds to help with that! Just plan on lying around for a few days ... doing nothing .... sleeping ... and eating very soft foods! I ate mashed potatoes, ice cream, smoothies and all kinds of good stuff!!! Good luck! I had mine done 2 yrs ago. Its not bad, your asleep the whole time. After they will give you some pain meds. Make sure you don't drink from a straw or smoke until your doc says its okay. If you do It can cause you to dislodge the blood clot, and you will have to go back in and have it repacked. Now that does hurt!Health Question & Answer

I just had this surgery a few months ago and it really isn't that bad. First day was a little rough but I was eating regular food the next day. The IV sedation is great. You won't remember a thing. Good LuckHealth Question & Answer

You'll lie down...count back from 10, then go home. Just get used to a liquid diet for a few days lol...

Tell your surgeon to use dissolving stitches....that was my only complaint. I actually broke a stick trying to eat/drink my foodHealth Question & Answer
