I'm not sure if what I have is a tooth ache?!

Question: I'm not sure if what I have is a tooth ache.?
I went to the dentist because my right side of my mouth around my teeth was hurting on and off for 2 days. She did ex rays on all of my teeth on that side and saw nothing. My upper right tooth was a little dark on the ex ray, which could be a bone or infection possibly, but she said it would be a guessing game if I couldn't pin point exactly where the pain was coming from. I also have an upper tooth that was done two years earlier and was close to the root. She says the ex rays show that its fine and no sign of decay towards the root. She says I might have an infection in my sinuses, but I am having this for four days now and I cant figure out what tooth it is. She knocked on my teeth, did a cold test and I didn't react to any of it. She said that if a nerve was exposed and she did that, I would have hit the ceiling in pain. It feels like a nerve to me, because I had infected teeth that were pulled out in the past. They caused severe pain in my ears and jaw. I wonder if anyone has an idea, because if I cant find the exact spot, I have to wait it out longer. It comes and goes and seems to be brought on by a lot of movement to my jaw or 5 or so minutes after a eat something crunchy like a cracker or cookie or something like that. Any ideas.? I hope I gave enough details. Thanks.Health Question & Answer

You may be having crack tooth syndrome. It is very difficult to diagnose. Even sometimes with xrays you cannot diagnose. Only dentist after clinical examination along with other diagnostic tests can dianose this. For more information on cracked tooth you can read the following very informative article

you could have an ear infection. I once brought my son to the dentist thinking he had a cavity because he was complaining that his teeth hurt. He had no cavities so off we went to the pediatrician and it turned out he had an ear infection. Sometimes the pain from one can feel like it's in the law and teeth.Health Question & Answer
