I have a little guy who just turned 6, about 3 weeks ago. His very first tooth came loose at dinner and it was very unexpected. He started to worry thinking all his teeth were going to fall out and he keeps saying he broke a tooth.
I need some creative ways to comfort him and help him understand that losing teeth is a normal thing in life... a very big milestone. He doesn't really buy into the whole idea of a tooth fairy. Does anyone have any ideas.? Health Question & Answer

Well we like to tell our children patients something like " Your going to get a new shiny white Big boy tooth now" They usually get excited and feel like they are grown up!Health Question & Answer
owww, tell him that it's a sign of growing up! just has getting a haircut. sometimes, making a little tradition when a tooth falls out is a great way to show that it's a normal thing. i suggest assign a special box for his teeth as they fall out...a tiny one would be better! I would make a cute story up for him. Tell him thats what dentists do. They collect teeth. That little children lose teeth so that the dentists will have something to collect. Or say that is how you pay a dentist, with teeth lolHealth Question & Answer
