firstly, u shud have got a permanent filling done long back with a crown/cap over it to protect it from fracture...a temporary filling is meant to be just that..TEMPORARY!
anyway...now since u have pain, go to a dentist..get an xray done...either ur rootcanal has failed which is why its hurting u... in which case he might remove ur filling and redo it..or else there might be some other problem like tooth fracture... pls do not wait any longer.. as for the pain..if u do not have acidity usually, then take diclofenac sodium or ibuprofen in combination with paracetamol..
about the impacted tooth..an xray needs to be taken...to see if it will cause any trouble to ur other teeth, the way it is erupting and many other such factors determine if it needs to be removed..
usually i recommend my patients to get it removed...but it solely depends on case to case..all the bestHealth Question & Answer

When you say "now the filling is cracked" I really hope you don't mean that your temporary filling is cracked. Normally, a dentist will tell you that the temporary filling is only good for two - three weeks. Being that you have waited this long, chances are that the tooth has become reinfected and you're going to have to get a retreatment done (they will have to do another root canal, except now they have to drill through the old root canal, which is more involved and costs more).

As far as doing anything at home, the only thing that you can do is call your dentist right away. You can take something to manage the discomfort such as tylenol or ibuprofen, but in order to solve this you will need to see your dentist.

For the impacted wisdom teeth, you should ask your dentist about those while you are in the office. They can give you a referral to an oral surgeon, who could extract your wisdom teeth for you. The dentist or oral surgeon will be the one to give you a recommendation, but they need to check it first before they can say what to do.Health Question & Answer

I'm curious as to why you're having pain in a RCT tooth.?.?.? Root Canal means the nerve was removed, therefore you cannot feel pain. You most definately need to see the dentist ASAP. If you cracked the temp filling...no big deal...you need a crown soon...but if you cracked the tooth (for instance, down the root, then the tooth cannot be saved). also, if you are feeling pain in the tooth then they may have missed an accessory canal during the root canal and the tooth still has a live nerve in it.

As for impacted wisdom teeth, removal is recommened most of the time for a couple of reasons. #1 The position of the wisdom teeth below the gum line where you can't see, may be sideways and pressing against the roots of the back molar in your mouth. Over time this will destroy the back tooth that you can see, by dissolving it's roots by pressure. #2 Studies are showing more and more that wisdom teeth can be prone to developing cysts (which destroy bone and cause pain). They don't have to be removed! Get an x-ray and follow your dentist's advice. Health Question & Answer

Well...you should have gone in to get your crown as soon as you could after your root canal. Those temporary fillings are not strong enough to last a year and I am impressed it lasted as long as it did! You need to go in asap and get the crown. The nerve is dead from the root canal but you can still do damage so it needs to become a priority. The best thing to do is take Ibprofen or Motrin for the pain. If you have it put some orajel back there to help numb it up a bit but there isn't anything to do other than have your dentist put the crown on it. Health Question & Answer

your supposed to get the temporary filling removed ASAP. then the dentist will put a permanent filling in and cover it with a temporary crown. two weeks later when your permanent crown (made of porcelain typically) comes in, you go back and they put that on. if you didn't have all this done, then you risk cracking your tooth like you did. get to the dentist asap! good luck. sorry about the pain. Health Question & Answer

Go to the dentist asap and in the meantime you can put a blob of sensodyne (or any sensitive toothpaste) around the painful area which might help the pain. take painkillers, the soluble ones you can swill around your mouth.
if you're wisdom teeth are impacted then you may need to have them out (x ray first though).Health Question & Answer
