Is it normal to be in the much pain because of a wisdom tooth?!

Question: Is it normal to be in the much pain because of a wisdom tooth.?
I have a wisdom tooth coming in and I have had 3 other that didn't really cause me any problems. But this one is hurting to the point where I can barely open my mouth. My cheek and gum is slightly swollen. This has been going on close to a week now. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Will the pain eventually subside or should I go to the dentist.? Health Question & Answer

I am a dental lab tech. See your dentist as soon as possible. These may become infected. And it seems that this tooth is. Call your Dr now and see what he has to say. He'll probably want to see you immediately. Health Question & Answer

Suggest you go to the dentist... It is possible that your one last wisdom tooth isn't growing through straight, or is putting pressure on the other teeth next to it, even if the other 3 didn't cause you any problems. I had a similar problem with mine and ended up having them taken out because my jaw was too small to cope with the extra teeth! Or you may have something else happening altogether. Either way, no great drama - just see the dentist. He/she will sort out the best treatment for you.Health Question & Answer

Wisdon teeth are weird in that they can act up at any moment. YOu may be experiencg periconitis which has a high incidence of occurance in the area where the wisdom teeth are trying to push through. Usually one one wisdom tooth act up it is only a matter of time before the others act up, so many wold recommend having all four extracted at the same time.Health Question & Answer

i suggest going to the dentist right away.
i had to have 3 out of 4 wisdom teeth removed bc they were causing horrible pain. but the 4th one seems to be coming in fine.
