If you got one of your teeth extracted and it couldn't be seen?!
Question: If you got one of your teeth extracted and it couldn't be seen.?
Would you feel like white trash.? I had an infected took removed from the rear of my mouth and it cannot be seen when I smile or laugh but it really bothers me. I have one other tooth after it. Getting a bridge would cost over $1,000. I feel kind of like a hilly billy without this tooth and I wonder what a man would think if he really kissed me.
What would YOU do.? What would YOU think.?Health Question & Answer

Haha I totally feel you on that one because im missing the same tooth! And one on the other side and one on the top too and im only 28! I did feel like a hillbilly at first, now I feel like a jack-o-lantern! You should do what makes you happy. If the gap makes you feel insecure, then try to correct it. Maybe you can work out a plan with the dentist.? I am trying to slowly correct my mistakes, braces to fix the top gap and a bridge for one of the lowers and im just leaving the other one Lol. Never did have a complaint from the fellas though. Lotsa luck with whatever you decide and dont let one tooth make you feel trashy! Health Question & Answer
Omg how shallow can you get.? Losing a tooth does not make you white trash and furthermore if our country had a decent health care system there would not be people with bad teeth!! If you cant afford it - no one else will know. No man is gonna think you are white trash because of a missing tooth in the back that can't even be seen!Health Question & Answer
How far down your throat is his tongue going to go.? Sorry, Brigitta, I think you're worrying over nothing! Save your $1000!Health Question & Answer

I had the same thing - tooth extracted at the very back of my mouth. I was 24 when it happened.
I ended up forking over the $$$ for the bridge (implants seemed costly, and the surgery can be more involved when the back of the mouth is involved). I remember how bizarre it felt in the weeks when I was waiting for it to heal, but I'm also remain completely sure that nobody would have known the difference regardless of what I chose to do. Nobody could tell when when i was yawning, and i figure that's when it would be obvious.
However, self-confidence is really important, if the added confidence gets you a promotion at work, success in a job interview, or gives you the courage to ask someone out (might be true love!), the bridge will more than pay for itself.
I agree that there is something embarrassing about having a missing tooth, especially (in my case) at a young age, but I don't think it's a "I feel like white trash" embarrassing. In my experience, the kissing thing was not a problem - my other half never said anything about it.Health Question & Answer
