Question: I'm scheduled to have a root canal tomorrow....?
but I've come down with a cold. Do you think that the dentist will still do the root canal, or do you think he will reschedule the appointment due to the cold.? I hate the dentist so I really just want to get this over with. Health Question & Answer

I would call and ask. Different offices have different policies. If you are coughing or sneezing a lot it will make the procedure very difficult, if not dangerous. also, keep in mind that you will be needing to breath through you nose a lot, if you are stuffy this may be difficult. it depends on the doc. I persoanlly have never refused a patient because of a cold if they wanted to come in. If they were sick and were not up for the treatment that a different story. I wear gloves and a mask and wash my hands like a million times so I dont strerss out over a cold. There are more dangerous stuff out there to worry about. and I have been lucky to have not had a cold in almost 4 years.
