If you are having dental work done, you are probably having IV sedation, where you are not exactly put to sleep, you're just pumped full of valium and Demerol you don't remember anything. You think you are asleep but you really aren't. When I worked with IV sedation, we would consistently monitor vital signs and patients would have a nasal cannula delivering extra oxygen to their body. When were all done, we would put the IV of glucose on full blast to dilute the drugs in your system, and then you "wake up". Hope i wasn't confusing. You'll do just super!Health Question & Answer

Oh...I feel sorry for you. First, try not to worry. It's not scary to be knocked out. You just suddenly get instantly tired and you fall asleep. When you wake up you just wake up, and feel a little groggy. I have been knocked out 4 times in my life and it's not so bad. The fear is the worst part. You won't die. You'll be OK.... its okay to be scared. its not scary . its very relaxing . there is an extremely slim chance that you could die from anesthesia . the doctors have done this before . your gonna be okay. just try to relax = - ]Health Question & Answer

I'd bet my life savings that you won't die. The doctors have done anesthesia before. I'd imagine it's relaxing to fall asleep that way anyways. Let us all know.Health Question & Answer
