They use it to store patient data, they use it to store financial information, keep work records, the list goes on forever Health Question & Answer
They keep patient's data on them. For instance when you get referred to hospital they will put on your details on the computer, and this is how you get a hospital number.
also with this you can ring up the hospital and cancel and rearrange your appointment etc.
This is an easier way then keeping diarys for appointments, but if the computers go down, as you know they do, it all comes to a halt until they are up and running again.Health Question & Answer
