okay. i have damon system braces and tomorrow i get them tightened for the first time. also, i broke a brackets last week! what if they get mad at me.?!.?! does it hurt to get them tightened and after.? please help im about to have a freak attack!Health Question & Answer

Hey, don't get upset at the broken bracket thing.
I've broken mine at least four times! They won't get mad.
Tightening will make you very sore. I suggest taking some advil or Tylenol before you go, and you won't be able to eat hard foods for a while. You get to change the color of your braces :)

Ahh, don't worry. I got my braces just today, but according to my friends tooth pain depends on the person who's getting them tightened.
It ussually hurts for 1-2 days. If your denist gave you Calcuim pills, I suggest you take them before the tightening tommorow. If you broke your brackets it's alright, they are just gonna put in a new one in. Just tell them the story and everything will be fine! i just got my braces today!!
my friends at school say that the first time you get them tightened it hurts like crazy. but i'm not sure..

Broken brackets are perfectly normal. And it's not that you broke it, it's just the cement was weak and it just popped off your tooth. And it will be sore for a while after you have it done. But not during. Health Question & Answer
