Root canal on front tooth?!

Question: Root canal on front tooth.?
From someone else's point of view, i just had a cavity filled (on friday) in the tooth on the right of my two most front teeth.
the dentist told me that if i felt pain after 2 days, then i would need root canal. the pain went away last night, but i just felt some sharp pains after eating.

will my tooth look fake or something if i get endo on it.? that would be bad...

also, does it hurt.?Health Question & Answer

sometimes the cavity of the tooth is large but not large enough to dtermine where there is permanent nerve damage. So what is done is they remove all the decay and close it up, if the tooth has permanent damage then it will hurt like not tommorow. If there was no nerve damage then the tooth will not be sensitive. normallyt the pain is right away. So my suggestion would be to wait maybe a couple of more days, if nothing then hold off on the root canal. A root canal can always be done down the road, and on a front tooth they are very easy.

Well just because you felt a little pain does not mean you need endo. It can just be some trauma side effect from having the tooth filled. And if you do need endo there Tooth #7 from the way you described usually the would not crown that. They can just place a lingual
( tongue side) filling to close the tooth.Health Question & Answer

a few years ago, i had an accident and had both teeth knocked out. they were put back in, but i needed several root canals and minor surgeries on them. what they do is numb it with a shot and it feels like a pinch. after that, you won't feel a thing.

as to how they look, my teeth are still white and and perfectly healthy.

i also suggest you bring an iPod or mp3 player during the surgery; mine took over an hour. hope this helps.Health Question & Answer

you wouldn't be having this problem if you brushed your teeth 4 times daily Health Question & Answer
