Smoking after a Tooth Extraction?!

Question: Smoking after a Tooth Extraction.?
Hello I had my tooth extraction on November 9th, 2008. I smoked a ciggerate today and made sure i barley puffed on it!. also after every hit i rinsed with salt water and after smoking i rinsed with this prescribed mouth rinse. I not going to smoke no more because i am scared of the dry socket. Do you think i will be ok if i don't smoke no more.?Health Question & Answer

You should be fine :) Make sure to rinse after every cigarette, I just got 4 teeth extracted last week and my instructions said to stay away from smoking for 24-48 hours just to make sure the clot isn't disturbed; you most likely have a clot by now :) keep them clean for good healing:)Health Question & Answer

it will blow a hole in your gums and inflame them that is why i cannot eat drink of do anything cause i dont got no gums so that means i will die in a matter of hours so do not expect me to answer another question on yahoo answers cause i will probably be dead so good day missy

The most "dangerous" time is the first 24 hours, by now the clot sould have formed and should be dense.? So you shuld be okay.Health Question & Answer

You should be just fine, it's been 2 days. You have to give the clot time to form, which it has by now.

You should be ok but don't smoke anymore during healing period. I don't know if you ever had dry socket but it is PAINFUL!Health Question & Answer
