Question: How long does it take to get braces removed.?
How long does the actual procedure of removing the brackets and cement take.? Just curious--I'm getting mine off in a few days.Health Question & Answer

Actually, taking the braces off doesn't take that long at all. It's just a matter of breaking off the brackets and bands, and then removing the bonding and cement. It usually takes me about 20 to 30 minutes. Then it takes about 15 minutes to bond the retainer to the lower teeth and another 15 minutes if there is a bonded retainer for the upper arch also.

Metallic braces takes around 20 minutes to take off and ceramic braces takes longer. However dentist after taking off braces your teeth will be cleaned and polished. also the dentist will take impresssion for making retainer after braces which you have to wear for keeping the teeth at their new position. Not too long maybe an hour for guessing, cause they remove wire and bracket then saw off the cement glue on each tooth. Smells Horrible.Health Question & Answer
