When I got my braces on they hurt for 3 days, the first day they didn't hurt until I tried to eat, so I had milkshakes soup, etc. It seemed like one day I just woke up and I could eat again. Try using an electric toothbrush, and a strong toothpaste like Crest Pro Health. I noticed a difference within the first week. I've had them on for two months, and there definitely is a big difference. My front two teeth were twisted back and overlapped, and now they are just about straight. There also is a big difference in mt bottom teeth. It took me a week to fully eat properly, (i.e. biting into things like sandwiches) I can eat just about anything now, except hard caramels and steak. Health Question & Answer

The soreness and pain will take about 7-10 days. It slowly fades away. You can pain killer tab for that. Similary you will be used to it in 10 days and then can any food except for hard and sticky one.
