Question: A question about a toothache.?
I have had extreme pain in my mouth..at first i thought it was my wisdom tooth comin out and then it sometimes feels like it is from the tooth furthest in the back...the dentist cant get me in til monday. If this is a bad cavity wouldnt it hurt always.....The pain is only there at night and its severe....i was crying all night....tylenol didnt phase the pain. Its like the whole side of my face but i can tell that it is coming from a tooth.....can a wisdom tooth do this only at night.? Because I was thinking that a cavity would not only hurt that bad at night but during the day as well...that is if its a really bad cavity...and by the pain i feel at night i would say it feels like a really severe cavity or a wisdom tooth....this side is the only side that has not yet had the wisdom tooth come out yet.....i am just very curious because like i said its only at night and thats strange to me. Since your dentist can not get you in until Monday, I would call the office and ask them if they can refer you to an Endodonist (root canal specialist) or give you names/numbers of endodontists they refer to that you could contact to see if you could be seen earlier than next Monday. If the dentist's office does not help you with this, then you should go to the phone book, find endodontists (probably under dental specialties), and start calling to see if someone can see you this week.
Your symptoms sound like an actual toothache. However, if it is something else, the endodontist could still evaluate it and probably treat, refer, or prescribe appropriately (they are dentists too).
