Yes this is very serious. You will grow a big mac in the place where the tooth was. Don't you remember the story about swallowing orange pips and apple seeds and then you would grow an orange tree or an apple tree in your stomach.?.? Well this is the same situation ;-)Health Question & Answer

No food does not generally cause infection in the site of extraction, use salt water rinses...gently, about 1 teaspoons to 6 oz warm water. This should help dislodge it. also salt water rinses will cut down the bacteria in mouth and minimize the bad breath that is common after removal. Don't panic about the seed, normal swallowing and saliva can also help the seed to come out.

Edit- be careful with hydrogen peroxide, it can actually burn the tissues in your mouth, regardless of mixing it with water. Salt water is best as it mimicks your saliva and again cuts the bacteria.Health Question & Answer

You should have followed the instructions of dentist. You will have to visit the dentist for this as this can lead to infection in the wound. For more information on do's and don'ts on tooth extraction, you can read the following article from a very informative dental website

I got a wisdom pulled a few weeks ago and the hole is just starting to close. I wasnt too careful with getting food stuck in the hole, because if I did, I would swish with 50% water and 50% hydrogen peroxide and it would come right out. When you swish with hydrogen peroxide it creates oxynated bubbles and loosens debri in your mouth. I started using hydrogen peroxide to combat tonsillolith, and now I use it as a daily regime for dental care.Health Question & Answer
