but when i wear my retainer the other one hurts

I would guess that the retainer is impinging/pushing on the filling which may be slightly larger than the original tooth structure. You need to bring the retainer to the dentist and ask them to evaluate it. They may adjust the filling or the retainer or find something different. Do not though try to adjust the retainer yourself.
