How to deal with pain of teeth extractions?!
Question: How to deal with pain of teeth extractions.?
I have had 2 teeth taken out as I am getting a brace. I had them taken out yesterday and I am in so much pain!! It took a lot of pulling to get them out and I had to be injected in the same place 3 times for the numbness to take effect! Its really sore, and I cannot eat properly...does anyone know how to speed up the healing process/help the pain!.? Im finding it hard to sleep!
Painkillers aren't enough! I have to have another 2 extracted next wednesday and Im dreading that too! I dont know if taking painkillers beforehand will numb the pain of the injection.? Thanks for your time!Health Question & Answer

The best thing to do it to take advil or ibuprophen. They are anti inflamatories. Pain killers will only make you forget about the pain. They won't make it go away. If that doesn't work then you might have a dry socket, which is when there is no blood clot to protect the exposed bone. If this is the case then you will need to revisit you dentist for them to pack the socket with a dry socket paste. Rinsing with warm salt water 3-4 times a day will help with the healing process. 3 things to avoid doing after an extraction is: no spitting, smoking, or sucking through a straw. You don't want to make a suction in your mouth because this can removed the clot.Health Question & Answer
