As you guessed, I think you damaged your mouth tissues. They are irritated and "burned". I would rinse with a little salt water (1 tsp. salt to a cup of warm water). I would also recommend taking a benedryl in case you are having an allergic reaction-- either liquid or tablet. The generic form of benedryl, which is an over-the-counter allergy med, is diphendramine HCI. then sooth your tissues by swishing milk-of-magnesia (or other upset tummy remedy containing magnesium hydroxide )in your mouth. That's a liquid for soothing upset tummies. It coats the tummy lining. It works well for sore mouths. In fact when people get canker sores in their mouth, you can dab on a half/half mixture of the liquid benedryl and the milk of magnesia (like 1/2 tsp each, mixed together). It will take a few days for your mouth to heal. Meanwhile, stay away from very salty things and also stay away from acids & spicy stuff. (things like tomatoes, pizza, oranges & juices in general are irritating). Ice cream, milk and gentle things are best now. You should be ok soon. I hope it goes quickly! :)Health Question & Answer

Time will heal the tissues in your mouth. Most often, the office I work for, does not recommend rising with hydrogen peroxide because you can burn tissues regardless of mixing it with water. Rinsing with salt water is best, cuts down on bacteria therefore lessens bad breath, but wait till your mouth heals. Be patient, it will healHealth Question & Answer

ice cream will remedy the pain, but not cureHealth Question & Answer
