Bleeding of the mouth while brushing my teeth? Why?!

Question: Bleeding of the mouth while brushing my teeth.? Why.?
I was brushing my teeth and a good amount of blood was coming out. I believe it was just when I was brushing on the left side. It sort of freaked me out. What could be the cause of this.? And what would be some solutions.?

And if it matters, I was brushing with a new toothbrush.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It could be due to many reasons,
1. Vitamin C deficiency, take enough citrus fruits to compensate.
2. gingivitis that is infection of gum you may need antibiotics.
3. Some minor cut (less likely to be the cause).
So first rule out the cause then go for solution. Enough Vitamin C, a soft tooth brush and flossing will probably work.Health Question & Answer

you probably have really stiff bristles from the new toothbrush and you aggravated your gums or even cut it open which causes it to bleed. Just take it easy on that side for a little, its not a major concern. Health Question & Answer

Its probably just gingivitis. I would recommend that when you buy a new toothbrush get one that is Soft. It will say it on the package. also flossing can prevent this to.Health Question & Answer
