I am going to have a Root canal treatment tomorrow. Kindly tell me if that is painful or not?!

Just had one two weeks ago. Injections aren't a picnic, but they are nothing to worry too much about. Be thankful that we have them instead of doing it without!!! OUCH!

Procedure was painless. Jaw ached for a few days because of injections. Took Motrin and was good as new.

It depends on how your tooth roots are shaped. A root canal is where the dentist is removing all of the tissue inside the tooth's roots and replacing with filling, because the root is diseased or the tooth has become so diseased that the root has actually died. I have long, curved roots and the root canals have been painful, because of the tools used to remove the tissue from the roots, they have to probe more with curved roots to completely clean out the root's canals. My husband has straight roots and has no problem and no pain with a root canal. also your molars may have different root structures than your front teeth. Honestly mine didn't hurt one bit, they injected some meds to numb the feeling. However i did feel a slight tight squeeze which is nothing major.Health Question & Answer
