You may have sensitivity. Does it hurt when you chew something cold or hot or just hurt when you chew anything no matter what.?
If it hurts when is something cold or hot is sensitivity and you can help it by using a tooth paste I believe is called sensodent. However, if it hurts when you just chew anything you can try getting something hard and tap on the tooth and if hurts is a cavity, so you need to go to the dentist to get it fix as soon as possible.
