My mom has really bad teeth and over the years they became really bad. For her 50th birthday I would like to get something done with them. I'm not sure what to do. Would they just give her new false teeth.? She wouldn't want that. Health Question & Answer

If she has a rotten tooth, it HAS to be pulled. I had a tooth in the back of my mouth pulled and was told that a tooth implant would cost $2,000 or even $3K. I know that dental work is very expensive, I have been working on my mouth and it has cost alot. The best advice I can give you is to call a bunch of dentists around your area and talk about pricing and see who can cut you the better deal. also ask around, I went to a dentist and he didn't get all of my cavities out, I ended up having to get 6 teeth pulled because of it and I heard from 2 different people the same dentist pulled the wrong teeth!Health Question & Answer
If the teeth are savable you can get a root canal and cap which will cost $1200 per tooth depending on insurance, but I'd suggest dentures since that's cheaper than getting caps for each tooth that is savable.

once a tooth is broken, a root canal and crown runs 2500. i have five, and the last estimate i had was like 12000. needless to say, i drive a 500car and can't afford that. i just pull them as they bother me and when it gets bad enough, i guess i'll be getting dentures.Health Question & Answer
