I have a hole in my mouth, near cheek and gum?!

Question: I have a hole in my mouth, near cheek and gum.?
So last Thursday i went to get my 5 wisdom teeth out. And now its been like 5 days and i noticed that the dissoluble stitches are finally going away.

And my cheek/jaw has been hurting the past few days, so i took a look and i noticed a black hole near the back in the cheek area... i mean.. i thought they were suppose to stitch everything up. Or is the hole suppose to go away.? or stay forever.?

Just so everyone knows its not exactly where the tooth came out either... its more in the cheek/side of the gum, and i have no idea how big it is.. the opening is pretty big, round as a pencil/pen.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The size and location of this "black hole" is dependent on the original position and the compaction of your wisdom teeth. Is your pain originating from the bottom or the top jaw.? Dry sockets are more common in the lower jaw. Make sure you follow your Dr's post op instructions carefully. Health Question & Answer

it will close on it's own in time, i freaked when I got mine out a year ago. just make sure you keep it clean and wash your mouth out after you eat. Health Question & Answer
