6 YO tooth not growing in?!

Question: 6 YO tooth not growing in.?
My son is 6 y.o. and am a little concerned about his tooth.
He lost his top front tooth back in Sept. and still no sign of new tooth 2 months later.?.?
He got all of his baby teeth around when he should've got them so he's not late or early.
He had lost a tooth early this year and is growing in fine.
I have an appt next month for him but I would like some input in the mean time.

He's a bit on the young side to have lost a front top tooth already. The average age for that is 7-8. It's possible the permanent front tooth simply isn't developed enough to come in just yet. It will, when it's ready. When you go to the dentist, he'll be able to take an x-ray and see exactly where things stand. I assume the other lost tooth was the front bottom, and he's about the right age for that to happen. Right now, I know it's worrisome but try to not worry too much. Sometimes we humans just don't do things on the usual schedule, and it's just one of those reasons parents get grey hair. Chances are good that the new tooth is there, and will appear when it's ready. In the meantime, I bet he's having fun with straws. My youngest son's front teeth weren't quite ready either, and it took almost 6 months for them to come in completely. He had a blast with straws, spitting and whistling. Health Question & Answer
