Question: Does getting your cavity filled hurt.?
Mine's on my front teeth. My mom said it doesnt hurt with Novacain, but getting novacain injected hurts a lot. she told me i should do it without the novacain, because my cavity isnt close to the root or something. What should i do.? does novacain hurt A LOT.? Health Question & Answer

I've had a couple cavities and my dentist has always put a painkilling gel, like ora-gel, on my gums before giving me the shot. I would ask if they offer this at your dentist. They put it on a q-tip and keep it there for about 5 mins and then when I get the shot the only thing I feel is a little pressure and a slight sting from the chemicals. With the novacain the filling doesn't hurt at all, it just might be a little uncomfortable. Health Question & Answer
