Is it possible a crown can simply snap in place after two or three months of being placed?!

Question: Is it possible a crown can simply snap in place after two or three months of being placed.?
I have a crown on a back molar. It is about 2 months new and it had some pain to it. I told my dentist and he simply said it takes time to adjust to a new crown and they can sensitive. Well the pain came from biting down and only when biting down. They took an xray and said all contacts are where it should be and nothing is out of place.
Today I was eating a hamburger and I bit down and it just felt like something snapped. All of sudden I can bite down without pain now but my gumline is all sore and swallon now as if the crown was shoved up higher...

Is what I am thinking correct or do I need to go back into the dentist to have it adjusted.?Health Question & Answer

Go back and hopefully he can refit it. If you have only had it 2 months ago he should do it free of charge.Health Question & Answer
