Is it possible to get cavities under your brackets?!

Question: Is it possible to get cavities under your brackets.?
The brackets are glued on your teeth so shouldn't the glue cover those spots and keep cavities from forming there.? Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yep. I see it all the time. The cavities start beside the bracket where it's really hard to clean. Then the bacteria can get under the bracket where the enamel has been undermined. Your best protection is to keep your braces really clean. Get something called a proxybrush. It's a little pipecleaner looking brush. They sell them at drugstores. also, get a flouride rinse like ACT. That will help, too.Health Question & Answer
