Question: What causes some peoples teeth to wear down & what can be done.?get dentures.?--details please.?
My teeth keep getting shorter & I don't know if i should get dentures or have caps on my teeth i'm going to have to do something and would like to have your opinions whats the cheapest way to reasonably fix this,i even wear a night guard & it don't seem to help.Health Question & Answer

I take it you're a grinder then.? The night guard will help . It will stop you grinding down the teeth and protect them but it won't stop you grinding.
You could have them crowned or veneered but this is a costly option and will not stop you grinding but it will make your teeth more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Removing your teeth and getting dentures is not the answer. Dentures are ill fitting and uncomfortable unless you have tens of thousands to spend on them.
I would consider consulting an Orthodontist it's perhaps the positioning of your teeth that are causing the problem.Ask your dentist to refer you and it wouldn't hurt to see an Oral Surgeon either. If you're in the UK ask to be referred to a Dental Hospital (as you will have to pay privately otherwise.) It's cheaper or free in some cases but a long waiting list perhaps.Health Question & Answer

I agree. Grinding the teeth is a nasty habit and you should get caps. Find a dentist that offers a free consul. Health Question & Answer
